Home / Jake Meador Donations

Jacob Meador, the 7 year old son of Fellow Elk Member, "Jamie Meador and his wife Marcie" was diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma Cancer on Friday, January 15th, 2010 at Georgetown University Hospital.  This is a very aggressive form of cancer but fortunately it is very responsive to chemo treatment and results of the treatment are almost immediate.  Jake's stage of cancer was determined to be intermediate when diagnosed yet the success rate at this stage is very positive. Jake has a long road of recovery ahead of him and Jamie and Marcie are looking at a minimum of another 30 days of being at his side while he is treated at Georgetown along with a total of 5 months of continuous treatments.  As you can imagine, the bills are going to add up and even though insurance covers a lot, it does not cover it all.  To stay up to date with Jake's progress please visit his website at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jacobmeador/mystory.  We would like to ask you for any support that you may be able to provide in order to help Jamie and Marcie get through this trying time.  No donation is too small!!!  Please click the "Donate" button below and enter the amount that you would like to donate.  If you have any questions in regards to this page you may contact D.D. MacRae at 301-904-9132.
